In conjunction with Casas Por Cristo, Jesus Place is planning its first short-term Missions trip.   As the Lord provides, we  will take our homeless and formerly homeless Christian men to end homelessness for a family in Acuña, Mexico.  The $12000 cost of this trip will cover 4 days of travel, passports, food, building materials, and living expense in Mexico.  In addition, we intend to challenge the family we build for to build a home for someone else and will leave funds with Casas so that an additional home will be built after we leave.  The first offering given to this project came from one of our homeless men a few Sundays ago.  He is a Christian brother who without hesitation put in a $10 bill into the model house bank.  Will you join him in sacrifice?   Will you give to change and challenge the life of a needy family in Mexico and give our men a chance to be “more blessed” as they give rather than receive?  If so, we invite you to click the donate button below.

At Jesus Place, we believe there is a great consequence of lowering expectations on homeless people. It may not only cost them the dignity of future financial independence or housing. We believe it may threaten their discipleship to Christ.   So, we are very careful to keep records of what we give to each person on a database and limit what is given to promote stewardship. We take up offering every Sunday not because we are expecting a large sum to appear in the plates, but because homeless Christians need to give.

We are planning the trip to Acuña within the next year.  We want to see those we serve follow the Great Commission God has on their lives.  A discounted discipleship is none at all.  Jesus Place is a “Mission on a Mission.”
